VISA and the Foreign Police

Yesterday was my work visa renewal day, which sent me to the “foreign police” offices in Zizkov. The dark days of waiting from 5am to whenever are gone. Now they have been organized by sections of the world, more or less. The USA people are grouped in with North & South America, which means it took less than an hour to have three of us teachers sit down with front-line officials and get the paperwork entered into the computer.

The process would have been much more complicated but for the help of Katerina, from St James, our “guardian angel” who knows the ins, outs, ups & downs of gov’t offices and officialdom.

I return to the FP in ten days to pick up my new VISA. Hurrah!
