On the Rim of a Millstone

Lines, Lines, Lines

Chamonix Le TourWanted to ski Brevent today, but when we motored up there, we found a line of people that stretched 100 yards. Say goodbye to that. We went down the road, found Flegére the same cluster-bomb. Then I had a bright idea on the way to Le Tour: drive around to Vallorcine and hope that little secret gem parking lot and telecabin was empty. It was. No waiting, good parking.

The day was sunny with a bit of wind, but the snow was good all day. Skied some of the Vallorcine side and a bunch of runs on the very busy Le Tour side. Film to come. But nice thing we did was have an early dinner at the L’Arret Bougerie, a little French cafe attached to the train station a few steps from the telecabin. Good wine, food, and a patient waiter who spoke English to walk us through the menu. I have to brush up on my basic French.
